Running a business means catering to your customers. You know your community better than anyone else. Being able to provide an offering that is successful within the dynamics of your city is a skill you must have as a business owner. Designing your operations around client preferences increases conversion and customer satisfaction.
theCut gives Barbers the ability to customize their offering to their liking. We provide tools to determine how you’d like to get paid, whether that’s using the app, in the shop, or both. You can personalize your schedule around service length, calendar intervals, and booking preferences. Barbers should also enable cancellation and no-show policies to enforce appointments and protect their time and money. In this post, we’ll discuss all your options when setting up your profile and schedule on theCut.
Once you've successfully enabled Mobile Pay these options will become available.
Time is money. Getting paid for the service you provide is important in any business. With theCut, you have the option to use Mobile Pay for in app digital payments or to accept traditional payment methods inside your barbershop. With Mobile Pay, clients add an active card to their account or at the time of booking. Once you’ve completed the service, you’ll be able to charge the clients card and your funds will be deposited directly into your account via ACH within 2 business days. Mobile Pay doesn’t preauthorize or charge clients ahead of the appointment, only after the service will your clients be paying for the service.
In-shop payments allow you to accept payments via mobile card readers, barbershop POS systems, or cash. theCut will soon be offering Square card readers for Barbers looking to process payments in shop. Mobile payments is becoming more ingrained in our day to day lives however there are always clients who have specific preferences. You can select either option or BOTH to give your clients complete flexibility when paying. However, with both options selected, you will not be able to enable Cancellation and No-show policies.
When setting up your booking preferences you have the ability to customize how your schedule appears to clients. Your calendar is built using 15 minutes increments. By default, your availability will show bookable slots every 15 minutes. Changing the availability interval determines how bookable slots are displayed. You can switch between every 15 minutes, every 30 minutes or every hour. Ex. 12:15, 12:30, 12:45, 1:00 to 1:00, 2:00, 3:00, 4:00.
With theCut you can also implement a Last Minute Booking rule. Sometimes you’d like the ability to plan your day. However, clients can book with you at any time, even 5 minutes before the appointment. To combat this, we’ve given you the option of setting a limit on how soon a client can book. You can restrict appointments to being booked at most 12 hours in advance. This’ll give you more insight into your schedule and makes daily planning more manageable.
Convenience is important to us and making it easy for both you and your clients to book appointments is always on our mind. As a Barber, your day can get very busy and you don’t always have time to look at your phone. By enabling Auto-confirmation, every time a client requests an appointment from you it’ll be automatically confirmed and added to your schedule. No need for you to manually check and accept each request, we’ll handle the heavy lifting for you.
Clients booking with you may need to book several services at once to get the full experience. You can enable multiple services to give clients that option. With multiple services, clients can combine your various services together when booking. Ex. Hair + Beard or Haircut + Hot towel + Design.
theCut gives Barbers the ability to customize their schedule and offering. Choosing between Mobile Pay or in-shop payments gives your clients the flexibility to choose how they’d like to pay you for haircuts. In shop allows for cash and payments with a card reader. Enabling both Mobile Pay and In-shop payments restricts you from being able to enforce Cancellation and No-show policies. theCut will soon offer card readers for in shop payments as well. When setting up your schedule, you can determine the booking intervals in which your schedule is presented to clients. Choose between 15 minutes, 30 minutes, or 1 hour blocks. You can also enable last minute booking rules to restrict how soon clients can book with you. A busy day is a good day but that can lead to you forgetting about incoming appointment request. To combat that, you can turn on auto-confirmation to accept all appointments booked with you. Setting up multiple services allows clients to combine various services when they book with you. This can expand your total offering and give clients complete flexibility and convenience.
