THE ROLE

At theCut, the brand loyalty we've maintained is born from true love of our product. Users appreciate the care and craftsmanship that goes into each release. We need you to help us continue to build the premier barbershop experience for our users. As you can imagine, quality of our product is essential to our success.

We’re looking for a Quality Engineer who will take a key role on our team. You should have extensive knowledge in the quality stage of software development. You’ll be working alongside our quality/test lead and development team, ensuring that we are shipping the highly polished product that sets us apart from everyone else.

THE RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Develop and maintain automation code, data sets, scripts, and utilities
  • Create and execute functional and non-functional, moderate to complex test cases and solutions, based on test strategies and test plans
  • Effectively communicate testing activities and findings, both verbally and in writing
  • Actively monitor for product risks, manage/mitigate where possible, and communicate/escalate as needed
  • Identify and innovate in areas where manual work can be automated, and drive on-going process improvements
  • Able to be independent, self-motivated, hungry to learn and perform in a highly demanding, technically challenging, quality focused and time critical environment
WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR
  • At least 1 year of experience in a quality engineering or similar role
  • Ability to oversee quality management activities within multiple simultaneous projects
  • Experience with testing and automation
  • Experience with test impact assessment, test design, test execution and defect management
  • Experience with a programming language, preferably Typescript
  • Knowledge of SQL and NoSQL databases
  • Any software development experience is a plus
  • Highly organized and detail oriented
